I did a swatch for the cover pattern - following a discussion on the knittinginjapan yahoo group - just to see how it goes. It's pattern 086, page 40.
Pretty much straight forward, but I did a mistake on row 12 - it's a WS row with a kind of 'unexpected' change in pattern.
Apart from this, there are no particular challenges, it will only require an ambitious beginner to use it.
And I guess It will only work well with a yarn with a very good stitch definition.

Good Job Silvia !
Looks like flowers and butterflies to me.
Hellokitty165 was going to try this in lace weight, I think... That would also look very pretty, but quite different. Now I'm tempted to try it too! But I just cast on for a hat...
As a recent convert to the Japanese patterns can you tell me (as I haven't seen this book before) - are the stitch patterns easy to read?
Hi donyale,
some are very easy, some will require more experience. There is a lot of help available in the knittinginjapan group and the japanese group in ravelry so I would not worry about it :)
That is an excellent piece. Beautiful work.
Gostei muito desse post e seu blog é muito interessante, vou passar por aqui sempre =) Depois dá uma passada lá no meu site, que é sobre o CresceNet, espero que goste. O endereço dele é http://www.provedorcrescenet.com . Um abraço.
